Ok, I don’t rant that often – probably too often for most of you. However, it’s January and we’ve all got resolutions to fulfill. If your resolute aims have something to do with dental hygiene (and all of you should have something in this vein!) and you’re uninsured and without dental plan coverage, check this out. The University of Alberta Dental Hygiene Clinic can help you out. The work is done by students, but the final product is no less than professional and the bill is 70% of what you’re currently paying at the regular dentist. That’s one heck of a good deal if you’re on a tight budget. Initially there’s a consultation and full mouth probe. At the second visit, the actual hygienic work. So there are some downsides – like heading to Edmonton twice, but that affords more trips to the Italian Store, among other places! In total, my bill came to $40, parking was $24 and gas $30. It’s worth checking out at your local dentistry school!
