An orchid way up high. Hardy little buggers.
And a world of ferns, all over the place…
These weird beings came out and put on a spectacular light show for us one night.
Then they packed up camp and headed up the Freshwater River for some more vegetation plots and plant IDing.

What a great trip. My apologies for the seemingly unorganized pictures sequence in the entry, but three weeks just can’t be summed up in 60 photos – it would take a lot more for me to give a real idea of the people I was with and places I went there. Hopefully you enjoyed them, nontheless.

Wonderful photos. Can’t wait to see them all!
Nice job Dan. I laughed lots. The beard is gone but the memories linger. You have an extraordinary ability to document in images and words. On to the next adventure. I am now at one with my fam and garden. Later bro, Ant.
Bro, just stumbled on this while checking to see if the Urtica website was still there. You still coming over? We got some plots to do on the West Coast (Hokitika) in January….
Best of luck to the highest roller
You’re getting me fired up for Stewart Island/Rakiura bro. Thanks.
