Thousand Acre Plateau.

Lake Matiri looking south towards Murchison.  Great tramping weather – slightly overcast.

Poor Pete’s Hut.  Pete must have been really poor, and he was apparently a religious guy who was into “love”.

But, he had the desire to shit with a view.

Larrikin’s Creek Hut.  Even though the weather was beautiful, at about 19:30 it began to cloud over and get all eerily foggy – must be that West Coast moisture making it’s way over the ranges.

How does that Beatle’s song go… “here comes the sun…”

And then the mountain exploded.

Sweetass geology going on in those cliffs.

This was treeplanting in Ontario.  “Hit the Sphagnum!”  Yup, just stick a tree in it no matter what.  It’s also a moisturized TP.

Damselflies doing the old “tail lock” position…

This reminds me very much of a noxious weed at home.  I wonder if it’s really supposed to be up there.

Good clouds up on those plateaus.

Yesterday was the first day that I can think of in which I didn’t speak with or see anyone else.  That’s sort of monumental.
